Energy Corporation
3G Energy Corporation is a privately own company based in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada.
Management of 3G Energy began their
involvement in the energy sector in 1994 when they started an oil
and gas company in Texas. In the
intervening years the team has created three other successful
start-ups; one in gas and two in wind/solar.
Our involvement in the wind industry
began 2001 with the creation of Vector Wind Energy. Since that
time we developed 23 wind projects in eight Canadian provinces.
These projects comprised over 1,500MW of potential development.
Seven of these projects, comprising 120MW, are in operation or are
under construction. In 2004, Vector became the second ‘pure’ wind
developer to be listed on a North American stock exchange. Vector was sold in 2007.
3G Energy was created immediately
after the sale to continue certain initiatives begun under the
Vector banner. The 3G Group has earned a solid reputation as
renewable energy project managers and innovators having won the 2004
Sustainable Development Award from the Dupont Corporation and a $1.8
million grant from the Canadian government in 2007 for their design
of a slip-form concrete tower for wind turbines.
Wind energy remains as a core focus and we have
numerous projects active in both Canada and the USA. We are also
developing solar energy projects in Eastern Ontario to take
advantage of the new Ontario's Feed In Tariff program.
